Scoring: IMP

You are sitting south and play 2/1, so you open 1 Club and prepare to reibd your Spade reversely. Your LHO over calls 1H and "pass", "pass" from your partner and your RHO. Now comes to you. What is your proper rebid? 1 spade? 2 spade or double?

Double! I like to double in this situation whenever i can. Spades can wait, and pretty much anything else for that matter, except double.

Suppose you bid double now the auction goes:
South West North East
1 1 pass pass
double pass 2 pass
?

Your partner bids 2 over your double, what would you do now?

Well, this is why I bid 1 the first time. Anyways, a 2 call here over 2 should describe the hand (it can't be 5-6 in the blacks; would never consider the initial double with such a hand).

1 opener is a total misdescription of your hand, especially since you know that you will be able to reverse later on. Since 2 (after the double) describes your hand well in your opinion, why (misguidedly) open 1 in the first place?

I think that he means rebid 1. You (the problem solver) opened 1

I am sure Adam was suggesting to balance 1 over 1, not opening 1.

That is what I would do, too, we can still double later to show extra strength after having shown our suits.

2S now.

1S, the bid can be made on a weaker
hand, so what, but who cares?
If partner does not speak, we wont
miss anything, and showing where I
live makes it easier for him to find a
bid.

1-(1)-pass-(pass)
??

I double, trying to find out if partner has something I can use. The possibility also exits that partner has a lot of and with this hand I'd like to defend :P I believe bidding 1 shows a weaker and more distributional hand with which you don't want to defend.

dbl-(pass)-2-(pass)
??

Partner has a very weak hand with no 4 or 4, but with 5+ and 4+ (because opps don't bid higher in ).
Seems like a misfit to me, so I pass!

Dbl first, pass when partner bids 2. I think he has 5+ and a weak hand (otherwise he'd bid initially, or bid 1 or 2 on a 3 card now) so I don't see any way to make 9 tricks in NT.

I would re-open with a double and then bid 2 over 2 which should show around this in high cards

I rebid 1S, which is forcing in my partnerships. No need to bid 2S. This smells like a hand where no one can make 3 of anything.
