Hi all.

pass pass 1 pass
1 pass ?

a. 2 showing 5D and at least 4C non forcing 12-19?

b. 3 showing 20-22? 5D and 4C?

c. 4 Is this splinter in clubs setting up hearts?

d. 5 EKC? If playing Exclusion key card

e. Any answer would be different if partner is not passed hand?

Thank you all.

apart from the actual point ranges, I would agree on each of them.

I prefer sound responses, so with 5-4, I would sometimes do the GF jump with 18+ (and the nonforce therefore 12-17 or bad 18).

Also, with strong 5422 and values in doubletons, I'd prefer a NT rebid, especially if you have the spade suit well stopped.

4 definitely splinter with 4card support (and trumps that CAN be spared for ruffing, i.e. not AKQx B))

5 EKC makes sense, but you'd need a monster hand for this, because partner might have a ton of club values, meaning you're already way over the last makeable contract. I would imagine 2-5-6-0 shape or 3-4-6-0 shape.

I don't think partner's pass makes a difference.
