North declares 4H after an uninterrupted auction.

Scoring: Swiss Teams

East begins with DA, DK, D2.

Over to you.

White vs Red, East did not overcall with his good suit, so both unseen Kings are more likely to be in West's hand. I will ruff with Q, if overruffed by King, easy for my following play; if it wins, i still play a small to Jack in order to keep Ace as entry to finesse twice.

Who said East had a good diamond suit? How do you know his diamonds weren't AKx?

Go back 2 spaces.

I should have nipped this in the bud earlier.

North opened 1NT (15-17), South transferred to Hearts then bid spades naturally.

Can we trust West's signal at first two tricks? If it showed West has more than 2s, i will pitch a from dummy and run Jack. I find the toughest time will appear when West wins and returns a .

Cant afford wrong side K and a ruff at the same time.

So I just pitch a on the 3rd :

1) If west ruff, the K has to be on east. I'll play J from hand, hoping not a stiff K. Then after tried 3-3, finesse K is very likely to be successful.
2) If west duck low, then I will play low from hand, hook dummy's 9*. Knowing where is the K, I will try 3-3, if not, try catch K from the opposite direction.

*An extra chance here that if 9 wins, then I'll play AQ and the third . East has KTx now, there's no use to ruff the 3rd even he can, so i just safely ruff the 4 the , East can overruff as his final trick. Guessing on K is out of question.

[space] [space] [space] [space] else [he]J covered then I win and play [he]Q
[space] [space] [space] [space] [space] [space] [space] [space] [space] if [he] 3-2 I can ruff a [sp]

Cute hand. Unless I think my LHO is weak, I'll play him for the K. LHO has set up my Q unnecessarily. Furthermore, LHO can see that I'll possibly get a diamond pitch on the club, so cashing the AK was necessary if I was 2-2 in the minors - like the actual hand.

So I'm pitching a spade on the Q.

I don't have a 100% safety in the trump suit for 1 loser. So I'll just run the Jack from dummy hoping for K10 on.
